May's Flower

I stopped on the coldest day
During a season's quiet exchange
I stayed frozen by a moment
So unsure or perhaps insane

I put all on hold
To feel as seasons do
The old was closing in
From where all once was new

i had no protection from
The sadness of your game
I had no face to place you
Winter was your name

I fell into the winter
But knew I could not stay
Winter is the death of me
I was born for May........................
