Whipping Boy

hi, i'm new here. if you like my poem you can check out our website at http://nosurrender.org

There's a child inside,

That I keep safe,

I protect him from hurt he can

no longer take,

Whipped and scared,

He can only hide

unless you're by my side,

but he won't come out and

play when you're away,

When I'm alone he hides in the dark because no one wants to go there,

When he cries it shakes me,

it causes the broken parts inside

to rust and fall away,

without him I'm like the tin man with no heart,

no hurt

no love,

he thinks our relationship is like his first bike,

He wants to ride it out into forever.
