A cuirass of steel hair
Furrowed brows and iron veneer
Antedilluvian lips and pursed lids
With elder limbs she pats my hair
My nose, my cheek, and my jaw
Keels in her age-old resplendent gait, and plants a poignant stud
Of crinkled lips like rent iron
Spark, the crackle of primordial cords
Embrace, olive branches bursting in opal gold
A time before my Era and all there was since
The colony of Time petering beyond mauve colored britches
And collapsing into Infinity, dashed apart
Into the lucid maelstrom of never-more.
Bisabuela! Can you hear me!
Bisabuela! Are you there?!
No words, no heart
No peace of ensorceled rye
Only the cathartic dose of plaintive Memory
Echoing off the concrete furnishings
