Disappointment (comments)

What comes from disappointment
And leaves us with heaviness of mind
Brings with it indignation
Makes prophets become blind.

The emptiness within us
At upset's first beginning
Steals all that is important
Makes hollowness our king.

No amount of yearning,
No deep seated need
Will ever fill the hollow
Or lift us from our knees.

And no one asks,
No one seeks to find a reason
For why the yearning
Is to us mere treason?

Yearning is the soul of pain
Disappointment's first seed
Yet when we're disappointed,
To yearn we feel the need.

We're built to want more...
We're made to always crave...
And when we do not get
We become enraged.

What mechanism in us
Made this our first reaction?
Our father's sin, an apple eaten
Removed our sanest action.

We no longer self preserve,
For sin's desired effect for us
Makes idiots of men
That blindness ever trust.
